Walmart hosted a powerful panel about the importance of HBCUs in the Black community during The Big Homecoming’s Impact Day, featuring Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders and actress & FAMU grad, KJ Smith. They also brought their amazing Walmart Maker’s Studio to our Festival Tailgate that celebrated HBCUs and black-owned businesses. Together, The Big Homecoming and Walmart share an unwavering commitment to helping HBCUs do what they do best – supporting Black professionals and inspiring them to become phenomenal leaders in their respective communities!

New Music & Culture Festival, The Big Homecoming, aims to Pay Homage to Rich Legacy of HBCUs

Billed as the first of its kind, The Big Homecoming Music & Culture Festival will capture the unique energy and creativity of homecoming celebrations at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). The two-day experience will pay homage to HBCUs and provide an experience to the authentic facets of HBCU homecoming culture, including tailgating, music, food, art and more — all in one epic summer event. Festival programming also includes a 365 Impact Tour, which will introduce dynamic activations at multiple HBCUs throughout the year and further the legacy and pride shared by HBCU students and alums.
